Book of Mormon West End tickets go on sale 23 Sep

Tickets for the West End transfer of Broadway smash hit The Book of Mormon will go on sale on 23 September 2012, as opposed to the previously announced date of 13 September.

The London production begins preview performances at the Prince of Wales Theatre on 25 February 2013, ahead of opening night on 21 March.

The Tony Award-winning show centres on two young Mormon missionaries
dispatched to convert an African village and satirises everything from
religion to The Lion King.

The Book of Mormon opened at Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre on
24 March 2011 (previews from 24 February) and remains one of New York’s
hardest to get tickets.

The show features book, music and lyrics by South Park creators Trey
Parker and Matt Stone along with Robert Lopez (Avenue Q). It’s choreographed by Casey
Nicholaw, who co-directs with Parker. The show won nine Tony Awards last
year, including Best Musical, and will open this year’s Tony Awards
ceremony on Sunday.

The Book of Mormon will be produced in the West End by Anne Garefino, Scott Rudin and Sonia Friedman Productions. Casting for the London production is still to be announced.
