West End musical diva Elaine Paige – who amongst other credits, starred in the original productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats and Evita - sat in front of a live audience yesterday (12 September 2006) while sculptor Frances Segelman sculpted her head in just two hours at the Chicken Shed Theatre. Once completed in a few months, the Paige bust will be on show at the Chicken Shed before being gifted to the actress. Later this year, celebrated farceur Lord Brian Rix will be similarly immortalised in bronze. Segelman will also produce busts of the Lord Mayor of London, Councillor David Brewer CMG, and Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie. It’s the stuff “Memory”(ies) are made of!
