The Old Vic has denied rumours that pop star Justin “Trouser Snake” Timberlake is to appear in its production of Resurrection Blues (See News, 8 Sep 2005). One of the last plays by Arthur Miller, the UK premiere will be directed next year by Hollywood legend Robert Altman in what will be a cross-national production, featuring American and British actors. Showbiz tabloids reported today that the singer, who became famous in boy band N-Sync, was approached by Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey to take a leading role in the drama, after they became acquainted on the set of the forthcoming film Edison. A spokesman for the Old Vic told Whatsonstage.com: “That would be nice, but no it is not true. No casting has yet been confirmed.” Resurrection Blues runs from 14 February to 22 April 2006.
