The Old Vic has denied rumours that pop star Justin “Trouser Snake” Timberlake is to appear in its production of Resurrection Blues (See News, 8 Sep 2005). One of the last plays by Arthur Miller, the UK premiere will be directed next year by Hollywood legend Robert Altman in what will be a cross-national production, featuring American and British actors. Showbiz tabloids reported today that the singer, who became famous in boy band N-Sync, was approached by Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey to take a leading role in the drama, after they became acquainted on the set of the forthcoming film Edison. A spokesman for the Old Vic told “That would be nice, but no it is not true. No casting has yet been confirmed.” Resurrection Blues runs from 14 February to 22 April 2006.
