David Hare's play My Zinc Bed, which premiered at London's Royal Court last autumn, may be set for a recall in the West End. A rumoured revival, this time to be directed by Howard Davies instead of Hare, seems to be on the cards. The story concerns a successful, ex-Communist entrepreneur, who takes a vulnerable young poet into his employ. However, the poet forges a close relationship with the entrepreneur's insecure wife, especially when the husband is away on business. The original London cast featured Tom Wilkinson, Steven Mackintosh and Julia Ormond. Other plays by Hare which received premieres at the Royal Court include Slag and Teeth 'n' Smiles.
