A festival of free events for young people interested in theatre kicks off at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, on September 21 with a Masterclass by Olivier-Award winning actress Janie Dee, who won the award for her role in the West End production of Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential and which she will reprise soon at off-Broadway's Manhattan Theatre Club.

On September 22, the Almeida Theatre's co-artistic director, Jonathan Kent, will appear. Kent's productions of Richard II and Coriolanus, seen in London at the Gainsborough Studios in the summer and which have just completed a run at New York's BAM, has also been represented on Broadway by his Almeida stagings of Medea (starring Diana Rigg) and Hamlet (starring Ralph Fiennes).

On October 3, Royal Shakespeare Company actor Samuel West, currently to be seen in the title role of the Stratford-upon-Avon production of Richard II, will appear, and on October 5, Henry Goodman - who recently played Shylock in Trevor Nunn's National Theatre production of The Merchant of Venice - will take to the stage.
