Musical theatre favourite Kerry Ellis has returned as Elphaba in the multi-award winning Wicked, a role she first played in the West End in 2007 and has subsequently played on Broadway. Above is an exclusive first glimpse of Ellis in costume, and below we find out a few of her favourite things.

What/who is your favourite:

Film?

As a child it was Labyrinth with David Bowie; I used to watch it over and over again. Now I like tons of films and watch a lot so it's hard to choose.

Place to hang out in London?

Any of the parks. I also love the view going over Waterloo Bridge. London is great!

Restaurant? (What would you order?)

I love eating out – there is a fantastic pub in Finsbury called The Flying Horse. The food is amazing – I like fish especially and the sea bass there is incredible.

Holiday Destination?

Mexico. I've been very lucky to travel quite a bit; I love NYC of course and LA is up there too, but for a holiday it has to be Mexico.

Play/Musical that you have seen?

There are many but I was so moved by War Horse, so that has to be up there. I think you should be taken on a journey at the theatre and War Horse did that for me.

Theatre to visit?

I usually come into London to work so one of my favourite places has to be the Albert Hall. I'm very fortunate to have performed there many times and each time is just as special as the first.

Theatre to perform in?

See above! The Royal Albert Hall.

Actress/Actor?

Denzel Washington, who is just brilliant in everything he does.

Moment in Wicked?

There are to many to list but I guess the Broadway opening night; and my last night in the London production in 2009 was also magical.

Gift you’ve ever been given by a Wicked fan?

I was given tickets to see Barbara Streisand once at Wembley, which was amazing. I also love all the books people make for me, people are so creative it's wonderful.
