Potted Panto Returns to Vaudeville, Potter Extends

The West End is going potty. Potted Panto, the Olivier-nominated children’s Christmas show from CBBC children’s TV presenters Dan and Jeff (aka Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner), will return to the West End for its second consecutive Christmas season, running matinees at the Vaudeville Theatre from 20 December 2011 (previews from 18 December) to 8 January 2012.

The festive engagement comes on the heels of the upcoming West End run of the pair’s original hit, Potted Potter, which has extended its dates at the Garrick Theatre, where it’s now booking from 18 August to 2 September 2011. The show is currently celebrating its fifth birthday at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it started life in 2006.

Performed and co-written by Dan and Jeff, with director Richard Hurst, Potted Panto reduces “the best ingredients of the nation’s favourite festive shows into one neatly gift-wrapped packaged, including Cinderella in 3D, “full-scale” versions of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, the “first-ever Fairy Godchicken”, a princess face-off and two men attempting to play seven dwarves and all other characters between them.

Potted Panto will run at the Vaudeville with performances on various dates at 11.30am and 15.30pm. It plays concurrently with another children’s Christmas offering, Bristol Old Vic’s adaptation of Swallows and Amazons, running from 19 December 2011 (previews from 15 December) to 14 January 2012 prior to a national tour.
