Sally Ann Triplett is rumoured to be in rehearsals to take over the role of merry murderess Roxie Hart in Chicago at the West End’s Adelphi Theatre, when Frances Ruffelle completes her four-week contract on 27 August (See News, 25 Jul 2005). Triplett, who was seen in the West End earlier this year playing Miss Berta in Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antiques, won a Whatsonstage.com Award for her turn as Reno Sweeney in the National’s revival of Anything Goes, which transferred to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
