Opening: McGanns in Cooney's Tom, Dick & Harry

While theatreland continues to point north towards this month’s Edinburgh Festival, among the few major shows opening in London this week is:

OPENING TUESDAY, 23 August 2005 (previews from 10 August), three of the McGann brothers, Joe, Stephen and Mark, appear on stage together as brothers Tom, Dick and Harry in the new farce by Ray Cooney and his son, Michael, at the West End’s Duke of York’s (See News, 28 Jun 2005). Joe stars as Tom Kerwood, a loving husband who just wants to adopt a baby. But when the intervention of his brothers leads to calls from the police, asylum seekers and even the Russian Mafia, things get complicated.

The comedy, the master farceur’s 23rd in the West End, also features Mark Wingett, Louise Jameson, Hannah Waterman and David Warwick. The production, also directed by Ray Cooney, is initially booking until 12 November 2005.
