A starry line-up has been attracted to the Edinburgh Fringe for hit American drama The Exonerated, which has made its UK debut at the festival. Death row escapees tell their gripping true stories of “American miscarriages of justice” in the play by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, which was first performed in Los Angeles in 2002 before going on to 608 performances in New York and a 27-week US tour. It has also been presented at the United Nations. In New York, the play brought in top names including Mia Farrow, Jeff Goldblum, Bebe Neuwirth, Aidan Quinn, Lynn Redgrave, Brooke Shields, Kathleen Turner and singer Alanis Morissette. In Edinburgh, where it’s already won a prestigious Fringe First (See News, 19 Aug 2005), The Exonerated stars Aidan Quinn, Robert Carradine, Rain Pryor and Dave Calvitto. Could a London season be on the cards?
