This autumn sees a major new production of Becket, starring Dougray Scott and Jasper Britton, coming to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, but it may not be the only Jean Anouilh hitting the West End (See News, 9 Jul 2004). In today’s 20 Questions interview, Phil Cameron – producer of Journey's End and the upcoming Bollywood Twelfth Night - reveals that his company Background is commissioning a new translation of Anouilh’s rarely performed 1950 piece, The Rehearsal (or La Répétition). The French playwright remains best known in this country for his 1944 reworking of Sophocles’ Antigone.
