Two more Edinburgh hits are being tipped for imminent London transfers. Producers of Hurricane are scouting around for a West End home for the show about Northern Irish snooker legend Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins, which has just won star Richard Dormer the Stage award for Best Actor at the Fringe festival (See Today's News). Meanwhile, the winner of the prestigious First of the Fringe Firsts, Pugilist Specialist written and directed by Adriano Shaplin and performed by his troupe The Riot Group, is expected in town in early 2004. Amongst the other theatre productions that have already booked their transfer south are The Presnyakov Brothers' Playing the Victim, Gregory Burke's The Straits, Out of Joint's production of Stella Feehily's Duck, Heather Raffo's Nine Parts of Desire and, just announced last week, Henry Adams' The People Next Door. The last will have a limited season from 4 September to 4 October 2003 at London's Theatre Royal Stratford East.
