The Daily Mail also reports that Anita Dobson will be joining the West End cast of Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, taking over as prison matron Mama Morton from 8 September 2003. Though TV fans know her best for EastEnders, Dobson's musical theatre credits include The Pajama Game while, earlier this year, she was nominated for a Best Actress Olivier for Bryony Lavery's hard-hitting play Frozen at the National. Last month, the newspaper also named former Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson and Les Mis veteran Frances Ruffelle for the autumn ranks of Chicago, though future casting has yet to be officially confirmed (See The Goss, 18 Jul 2003). Currently, Ruthie Henshall, the original London Roxie Hart, is headlining the musical, playing fellow murderess Velma Kelly.
