Disgraced Tory party chairman and millionaire author Jeffrey Archer, currently serving a four-year jail term for perjury and perverting the course of justice, hasn't let incarceration curb his involvement in theatre. This week he started a day-release programme from North Sea Camp to work at Lincoln's Theatre Royal. Though the details of his job have not been disclosed, he's expected to be working with the resident youth theatre company and may even pen some new plays. His last play - the courtroom drama The Accused, in which he also starred in the run-up to his real-life Old Bailey trial - closed in the West End after just six weeks and some of the worst reviews in recent history. Archer has reportedly decline the £60 weekly wage offered by the Theatre Royal.
