Don't hold your breath for a West End transfer, but be aware - a musical on the life, loves and death of the late Princess Diana is in the works. Entitled Lady Di: Diana, A Smile That Enchanted the World, the musical is due to premiere in Germany later this year. Although the production, presented by Karl-Heinz Stracke, is expected to feature an all-British cast, it will be written in German. Its star, 28-year-old Karen Gillingham, who has been confirmed, is reportedly taking German lessons in preparation. In order to avoid offending the Royal Family, producer Stracke has been urged by legal advisors to keep Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles firmly off-stage. Considering the story is meant to start with the Royal wedding, that might prove a little tricky.
