The latest Stateside casting news puts to rest any lingering questions about another extension for Denise Van Outen in Chicago at the Adelphi. Van Outen will indeed continue in the role of tap-dancing murderess Roxie Hart but will do so on Broadway. Although Van Outen is unknown in the States, American producers of the Kander and Ebb hit musical were apparently so impressed by her performance that they're flying her out to New York next month as soon as her London contract ends. Van Outen is said to be ecstatic and feeling vindicated after having lost out - to Catherine Zeta Jones - on the opportunity to play Roxie in the Hollywood screen adaptation. Until 16 September, West End audiences can continue to see Van Outen at the Adelphi, currently appearing alongside Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly and Alison Moyet as Mama Morton.
