Swing!, the song and dance entertainment which received six Tony nominations, is rumoured to be heading for the West End. No dates or venue have been announced as yet, but the popular Broadway show toured the US until earlier this year and apparently fancies a London stint. A performance featuring a neo-swing band, dance numbers and vocalists, Swing! originally starred Ann Hampton Calloway and Everett Bradley. Numbers such as Harlem Nocturne, Stompin’ at the Savoy and Blues in the Night are included, with romance, comedy and nostalgia blending together. Swing! opened at Broadway’s St James Theatre in 1999, produced by creator Marc Routh, with choreography from Lynne Taylor-Corbett.
