1st Night Photos: Court Debuts Skinner’s Bike

The Village Bike opened on Friday (1 July, previews from 24 June) at the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. The production marks the Royal Court debut for young writer Penelope Skinner.

The provocative play stars Romola Garai (perhaps best known for taking the title role in the BBC’s four-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma), Nicholas Burns (Ghost Stories, Fat Pig and TV’s Misfits) and 2010 Olivier Award nominee Alexandra Gilbreath (Twelfth Night).

Joe Hill-Gibbins directs with set design by Helen Goddard, lighting by James Farncombe and sound by David McSeveney. The production runs at the Royal Court until 30 July 2011.
