WOS TV: Charlie Cox On … Playing the Donmar’s Prince

Charlie Cox stars in the title role of the Donmar Warehouse’s forthcoming revival of Heinrich von Kleist’s The Prince of Homburg, in a new version by Dennis Kelly.

Cox’s theatre work includes The Lover & The Collection (Comedy Theatre) and ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore (Southwark Playhouse). For television, his credits include Moby Dick and A for Andromeda; and for film, Glorious 39, Stardust, Things to Do Before You’re 30, The Merchant of Venice and Casanova. The Prince of Homburg marks his Donmar debut.


Joining him in the cast are: Ian McDiarmid, David Burke, Sonya

, Simon Coates, Jolyon Coy, Harry Hadden-Paton, William
Hoyland
, Siobhan Redmond, Mark Theodore, Julian Wadham and
Lizzie Winkler.

The production reunites the creative team behind last year’s Spanish Golden Age revival of Life Is a Dream:
director Jonathan Munby, designer Angela Davies, lighting designer
Neil Austin, sound designer Christopher Shutt and composer Dominic
Haslam.

The Prince of Homburg runs from 27 July to 4 September 2010 (previews from 22 July).
