What Can You Discover Backstage at NT???

Visitors to the National Theatre on London’s Southbank will be able to get a peak behind the scenes thanks to a new exhibition by photographer and artist Miriam Nabarro. Only one third of the National’s area is normally accessible to members of the public and Nabarro has sought out “secret spaces” to present in her work. The backstage areas are normally only seen by the actors and technicians who work there, but the exhibition, running from 19 August to 19 September 2010, offers visitors a glimpse into a rarely seen world. Nabarro has used a Hasselblad camera made in 1974 – two years before the National Theatre opened – for the exhibition. The resulting pictures have a look often associated with Polariod pictures, which were used to capture many 70’s pop icons.
