Australian stage and screen star Caroline O'Connor, who won a Whatsonstage.com Award for Best Solo Performance for the play Bombshells in 2004, will return to the West End in September with a new one-woman show, The Showgirl Within, which will run for a week, from 27 September to 3 October 2010, at the Garrick Theatre.

Caroline O'Connor: The Showgirl Within celebrates the culmination of “triple threat” O’Connor’s years of stage and screen experience, incorporating show tunes and other classic songs that have featured in her career to date. It will mark O’Connor’s first London stage appearance since On the Town at the London Coliseum in 2005, for which she was also Whatsonstage.com Award nominated.

O’Connor’s many other stage credits include Mack and Mabel in the West End (for which she was Olivier nominated), End of the Rainbow (Australia and Edinburgh Fringe) and Chicago on Broadway, as well as West Side Story, Hot Stuff, The Rink and Piaf and regular concerts at the likes of the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House. Her screen credits include Nini in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge and Ethel Merman in De-Lovely.

Caroline O'Connor: The Showgirl Within is directed by Michael Gracey and choreographed by Ashley Wallen, who between them have worked with pop stars including Will Young, Alesha Dixon, Kylie Minogue and the Sugababes. It has musical direction by Daniel Edmonds, lighting by Mike Robertson and sound by James Tebb and is produced by Neil Eckersley & Paul Spicer for Speckulation Entertainment and Stuart Piper & Jon Bath for Cole Kitchenn.
