Jay Reprises My Fair Lady Role???

By • West End
Alexandra Jay - who understudied Martine McCutcheon in the National Theatre’s production of My Fair Lady (and in fact ended up doing more performances than the Olivier Award-winning star) - is tipped to reprise her role as Eliza Doolittle, the cockney flower girl who wants to be a lady in the forthcoming tour of the Lerner and Lowe musical (See News, 20 Jun 2005). Confirmed stars for the revival are Christopher Cazenove (as Henry Higgins), Russ Abbot (reprising his West End role as Alfred P Doolittle), and Bond girl Honor Blackman (Mrs Higgins). Since her original break with My Fair Lady, Jay has been seen in Cabaret at Chichester and Mamma Mia! in the West End.
