Debbie could be coming in, sorry to, London shortly. In the stage version (See The Goss, 20 May 2003), the 1978 porno flick Debbie Does Dallas, about a teen queen and her sexcapades on the way to becoming a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, has become – so we’re told - an American feminist musical comedy by producers at The Araca Group, the same company responsible for Urinetown. Adapted by Erica Schmidt for performance in the US (at New York’s International Fringe Festival) and Australia, it features music by Andrew Sherman. According to The Stage, West End producer Mark Goucher is now the driving force behind a new British version which would have a new book while retaining Sherman’s original songs.
