Take a
first look at Ann Widdecombe and Craig Revel Horwood
in full garb for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
this year’s pantomime offering at Dartford’s Orchard Theatre. The show, which was launched during an event at Spitalfields Market on Friday (24 June 2011), plays its Christmas run from 9 to 31 December 2011.

Former
Shadow Home Secretary, Widdecombe was an audience favourite on last year’s
season of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, on
which Revel Horwood is a judge. In Snow White Revel Horwood’s Wicked Queen will be accompanied by the former politician
as his ‘Widde in Waiting’.

While the show will be the pantomime debut
for Widdecombe, the role of the Wicked Queen is nothing foreign to Revel
Horwood. Last seen in the actor-musician revival of Chess
(for which Revel Horwood collected a Whatsonstage.com Award for Best Regional
Production last year), he has played the same role in Snow
White
several times before. Additional stage credits include
Spend, Spend, Spend and The Merry Widow.

Revel Horwood and Widdecombe are fresh off
the touring version of Strictly Come Dancing, and their next
collaboration promises to build on their successes. “I can hardly believe all
the wonderful opportunities which have opened up through Strictly Come Dancing” said
Widdecombe announcing the production earlier this year. “Craig and I have had enormous fun on the tour of the show
and I am sure we can make that fun infectious during the run of Snow White”.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is produced by Qdos Entertainment and is scheduled
to run at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford from 9 to 31 December 2011.
