Chair Shortage at New Bush Sparks Seat Appeal???

The Bush Theatre present the first production in the Old Shepherds Bush Library next week, with their inaugural show Where’s My Seat running from 15 June to 2 July. However, as well as being the title of Tamara Harvey‘s collaborative production – which has seen scripts provided by three playwrights, stage directions from Alan Ayckbourn, Michael Grandage and Josie Rourke, and props from the NT prop store – theatre management at the Bush are now asking the same question.

Due to a lack of chairs in their new venue, the Bush are concerned theatregoers may not have anywhere to sit when they arrive for next week’s show. The Shepherds Bush venue have today (7 June 2011) launched a Where’s My Seat? Appeal, with anyone who brings a chair along to the venue before this Friday treated to a drink by the theatre. The Bush need to lay their hands on 60 seats before the end of the week, with donors asked to give their chairs for the duration of the run. The Bush is expected to have a more permanent solution in place when they relocate completely to the space this autumn.
