WOS Launches World Cup Video Competition

Following the success of our recent Miranda Sings competition, which attracted over 70 video entries, Whatsonstage.com is again offering readers a shot at internet video stardom!

Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past few weeks, you’ll know that the 2010 football World Cup – the world’s biggest sporting event – is about to kick off in South Africa.

With that in mind, we’re setting you the challenge of composing a World Cup-related song, or skit, and uploading it to our video.whatsonstage.com site for judgement.

Love the World Cup? Be inspired. Hate the World Cup? Tell us why. Completely ambivalent? Have a go anyway.

The winner will have their video run on the Whatsonstage.com homepage for a full week in the lead up to the World Cup final (on 11 July) as well as winning a pair of tickets to World Cup-themed shows Brazil! Brazil! and Beating Berlusconi.

The runner up and two semi-finalists will all get a pair of tickets to both shows, while the four quarter-finalists will get a pair of tickets to one or the other of the shows.

To enter, simply film your entry and upload it to the World Cup Competition channel on video.whatsonstage.com. All videos must be uploaded and in the system by midnight 30 June 2010 to be considered, and the winner will be announced on Friday 2 July.
