Hitmaker Mike Stock Debuts New Musical for Kids

Mike Stock, a member of hit songwriting partnership Stock Aitken Waterman and winner of eight Ivor Novello awards, has written a new musical for children, which will premiere at the Leicester Square Theatre in the summer.

Running from 20 July to 30 August 2010, The Go! Go! Go! Show is the debut production from Stock’s company The Show 4 Kids, which aims to “fill a gap in the market for high quality children’s entertainment”.

Directed by Carole Todd (Dreamboats & Petticoats), the show features music by Stock and Steve Crosby, a book by Dean Wilkinson and choreography by Paul Domaine (So You Think You Can Dance).

Mike Stock rose to fame in the 1980s alongside his collaborators Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman. Together, they produced over 100 UK top 40 hits and sold more than 40 million records, writing number one hits for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley and Paul McCartney.

Producer and co-writer Steve Crosby, whose pop credentials include forming the pop group Steps, told Whatsonstage.com: “With The Go! Go! Go! Show, we’re getting back to the great days of Steps, offering a ticket to a pop show that all the family can enjoy.”
