Rolling Stones Dancical Nothing to Scarfe at???

By • West End
An interesting additional detail about Satisfaction, Danish choreographer Peter Schaufuss’ new “dancical” set to the greatest hits of the Rolling Stones (See New, 4 Jun 2007): Sunday Times’ political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe has drawn caricatures of the music legends, which will form a part of the show’s staging. In addition to his lampooning of Whitehall’s finest, Scarfe proved his rock credentials providing the concepts, and cover illustration, for Pink Floyd’s The Wall in 1979. He’s also no stranger to the theatre, with credits including Fantastic Mr Fox, The Nutcracker, Miss Saigon and Peter Hall’s production of The Magic Flute. Oh, and speaking of theatrical connections, he’s also married to actress Jane Asher. Satisfaction will have its UK premiere at the West End’s Apollo Theatre in a limited season from 29 August (preview 28 August) to 8 September 2007.
