The good news now is that there’s talk of a new stage project; the bad news is that it’s on the other side of the Atlantic. Gyllenhaal is reportedly in talks to make his Broadway debut in Beau Willimon’s new political drama Farragut North, based on the 2004 presidential campaign of unorthodox Democratic candidate Howard Dean. At a private reading of the play this month, Gyllenhaal played the role of the politician’s communications director. Farragut North is tipped to open in New York in late 2007.
