The creators of Viz - the “mature” comic which has introduced students and perpetual adolescents to such characters as The Fat Slags, Johnny Fartpants and Sid the Sexist - is teaming up with the Royal Shakespeare Company to promote the company’s Comedies season and emphasise the Bard’s relevance to modern society. Viz cartoonists have created sketches of the backstage staff at the RSC’s Stratford home to become part of the sets for A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night. The season runs in Stratford until October 2005 and will transfer to the West End’s newly renamed Novello Theatre in December (See News, 7 Jun 2005).
