London may soon have two Hobson's to choose between. While Tanika Gupta's British Asian updating of Harold Brighouse's classic 1916 comedy opens next week at the Young Vic, Manchester's more traditional revival is being tipped for a West End transfer. The latter Hobson's Choice has won rave reviews at the Royal Exchange, especially for its stars John Thomson and Joanna Riding (who scooped this year's Best Actress in a Musical Olivier for her last West End appearance in My Fair Lady). It finishes its extended season up north on 5 July 2003 so could be heading south quite soon indeed.
