Have the producers of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang been following our recent Big Debates on Whatsonstage.com? The £6.2 million musical, based on the classic children's film about a flying car, has this week become the first West End show to introduce reduced prices for kids. From September, top-price tickets (usually up to £40) for midweek performances from Monday to Thursday will be £10 cheaper for under-12s. The new pricing policy chimes perfectly with last month's "Child's Play" survey on Whatsonstage.com, in which 92% of respondents said, in order to encourage young audiences, theatres should introduce concessionary prices as cinemas do.
