The New York hit about legendary American sex symbol Mae West is expected to transfer to the West End later this year or early next. Nominated for five Tonys, Dirty Blonde closed this past March after nearly a year at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre and an earlier off-Broadway run. In the comedy by Claudia Shear, the relationship between two single New Yorkers who meet at West's gravesite is tracked against the trajectory of West's career. Star of vaudeville, stage and screen, West died in 1980 at the age of 87.
