James Graham's hit political drama This House, charting the political stalemate that afflicted the House of Commons in the mid 1970s, is transferring from the National Theatre to the West End's Aldwych Theatre in September, according to the Daily Mail.

The production, which began life in the NT Cottesloe last year before transferring to the Olivier, will reportedly play a 16-week run, filling a space between the closure of recent Olivier Award-winner Top Hat and the premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new Profumo musical Stephen Ward.

Directed by Royal Court associate Jeremy Herrin, This House features a set that recreates the iconic Commons benches and an ensemble cast that includes Charles Edwards and Philip Glenister.

If it proves true, This House will be the fifth National Theatre production to transfer to the West End in recent years, following War Horse, Untold Stories, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and One Man, Two Guvnors.

There's just no stopping the South Bank powerhouse under artistic director Nicholas Hytner.

UPDATE: On 11 May 2013 director Jeremy Herrin tweeted: "To be clear: This House is sadly NOT transferring to the Aldwych despite reports saying that it would."
