The upcoming musical The Bodyguard has launched a nationwide search for talented child performers. Children’s casting director Jo Hawes is seeking six young actors for the role of Fletcher, the son of stalked performer Rachel Marron. Speaking to Whatsonstage.com at the recent press launch, Hawes said she was on the lookout for "dark-skinned boys with an unbroken voice and a certain something". If that sounds like someone you know then email j.hawes@virgin.net. The lucky six (three rotating principals and three understudies) can look forward to performing alongside Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Hadley, who will play Fletcher’s famous mother.

Hawes is no stranger to the West End, having cast child performers in the likes of Oliver! and Matilda the Musical. In her recently published book, Children in Theatre, she uses her wealth of experience to give advice to parents interested in the theatre industry - look out for an exclusive extract coming to Whatsonstage.com soon!
