Photos: Morrissey & Ford in Liverpool Macbeth

Liverpool Everyman’s production of Macbeth started previews on Friday (6 May 2011) in advance of its opening night on Thursday 12 May 2011.

The production sees David Morrissey return to his home town of Liverpool and the theatre where he started his career as a member of the Everyman’s youth theatre. In spite of Jemma Redgrave pulling out of the production due to personal reasons Morrissey appears alongside Julia Ford as Lady Macbeth.

Gemma Bodinetz, artistic director of the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, helms the production which runs until 11 June 2011, the theatre’s last in-house production before the it is closed for redeveloped.

Morrissey and Ford are joined in the cast by Mark Arends, Ken Bradshaw, Richard Bremmer, Neil Caple, Matthew Flynn, Gillian Kearney, Syrus Lowe, Gavin Marshall, Shaun Mason, Nathan McMullen and Eileen O’Brien.


The production is designed Francis O’Connor, with music by Peter Coyte, lighting by Colin Grenfell and sound by Fergus O’Hare.
