Chichester Theatre Festival's production of George Bernard Shaw's classic Pygmalion opened last night (25 May, previews from 12 May) at West End's Garrick Theatre where it will play a limited season to 3 September 2011.

Rupert Everett reprises his role as egocentric Henry Higggins, along with Strictly Come Dancing winner and former East Enders star Kara Tointon as Eliza Doolittle.

They are joined in the cast by Diana Rigg, Peter Eyre, Helen Millar and Peter Sandys Clarke with Michael Feast taking on the role Alfred Doolittle - a last minute replacement after Simon Ward withdrew from the production due to illness.

The cast were joined to celebrate the show's opening by Lorainne Kelly, Natalie Walter, Frank Skinner, Joe Calzaghe, Kristina Rihanoff, Helen Worth, Artem Chigvintsev, Julian Bird, Emma Brunjes, Trevor Dawson, Helen Worth, Ronni Ancona, Nadia Sawalha, Miranda Richardson, Debbie Arnold Artem Chigvintsev, Marie Helvin, Brian Fortuna and Heather Small.
