  • Lion King joins the Elephant Parade – Elephant Parade is a conservation campaign that shines a spotlight on the urgent crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant, and those lovely people over at The Lion King are getting their brushes out and getting in on the act. Running from May to July 2010, this is London’s biggest outdoor art event on record, and the elephants can be seen in around central London. See if you can find this one, hand painted by Sacha Jafri, which depicts the story of the Disney classic.

NT Replay/Reveal– We’ve featured a few videos from the fantastic selection on offer over at the National Theatre’s Discover site, but this is a rather marvellous clip that explains what’s available and features some great backstage footage from recent NT Christmas show Nation. With videos focusing on all aspects of production, the site provides an unparalleled view into the backstage workings of modern theatre, allowing you to follow the creative process from conception to opening night.

What do you get when you fall for Burt? – A hit revival of Promises, Promises with several nods in the 2010 Tony Award nominations that’s what. And as you can see from this revealing clip, Rob Ashford has brought his unique style and verve in making this show a visual feast. With breathtaking choreography, and possibly the most creative use of a hat stand we’ve ever seen, the show reunites Kristin Chenoweth with the Great White Way and also stars Will and Grace favourite Sean Hayes.

Sooner or later – Well, it didn’t come as a shock to many, but in 2011, the most influential entertainment artist of recent times is to join forces with the innovators and pioneers of modern circus entertainment to create a brand new spectacular, headed on tour next year. Untitled at present, the show will see Cirque du Soleil team up with Michael Jackson’s estate in what is likely to be one the biggest Cirque shows to date. Promising to pay tribute to the King of Pop, the creators are saying they will offer fans a unique way to hear, see and feel Michael’s music. Take a look at this teaser clip – complete with high drama and over the top voiceover.
