Best known for her roles in British films such as Kidulthood, Winstone is keen to make the transition between film and stage on what will hopefully gain a West End transfer at the end of it’s short run.
The Fastest Clock in the Universe by Philip Ridley has been described as ‘a modern day Dorian Gray.’ It follows the story of a 30 year old who refuses to acknowledge the fact that he is aging and each year celebrates his 19th birthday. The tale is dark, violent and disturbing and thus a role that Winstone’s previous film roles have prepared her perfectly for.
Directed by Edward Dick, Winstone will be starring alongside Alec Newman and Neet Mohan. Previews start at the Hampstead on the 17th September.
