An Inspector Set To Call At The Wyndhams???

Following on from The Shawshank Redemption’s closing notices yesterday (See News 3 November 2009) speculation has started as to what will be filling the Wyndhams Theatre.

According to insiders, An Inspector Calls could be set to reopen at the theatre for another limited run between December and March, following rave reviews for the current production (See Review 28 September 2009).

The show follows Inspector Goole as he calls unexpectedly on the prosperous Birling family to investigate the suicide of a poor young local woman. As he asks insinuating questions it becomes clear that they all bear guilt for the destruction of the woman they have variously exploited for cheap labour, cheap sex and worse – and that’s before the plot thickens.

An Inspector Calls is set to finish its limited season at the Novello on the 14th November to make way for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which opens on 12th December.
