Moran Brings Stand-up Show What to Apollo, Oct

Comedian Dylan Moran (pictured) has confirmed a six-week West End residency later in the year, bringing his new stand-up show What it is to the Apollo Theatre from 26 October to 5 December 2009.

The Irishman was last in the West End in 2004, with his show Monster II showing at the Palace Theatre and subsequently the Wyndham’s (See News, 12 Oct 2004). His other previous stand-up shows include Monster I and Like Totally.

Moran, who became the youngest winner of the Perrier award when he won aged 24 in 1996, has since gone on to forge a successful film and television career, twice winning a writing BAFTA for his Channel 4 sitcom Black Books. His film credits include Notting Hill, The Actors, Shaun of the Dead, A Cock and Bull Story and Run Fatboy Run.

The Apollo is currently playing host to another comedian; Rob Brydon Live! opened on Monday (11 May 2009) and continues for two weeks, to 23 May.
