Show Pics: First Look at Chaperone’s UK Premiere

Whatsonstage.com brings you the very first images from the West End production of Broadway hit The Drowsy Chaperone starring Elaine Paige.

The Tony Award-winning musical opens next week (6 June 2007, previews from 14 May) at the Novello Theatre and has lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and a book by Bob Martin (pictured reprising his Broadway role as Man in Chair).

John Partridge and Anne Rogers also star in this smart comedy about a lonely man who hides from the harshness of reality by sharing with the audience his all-time favourite 1928 musical about a wedding thrown into chaos, The Drowsy Chaperone.

Images are by Catherine Ashmore and feature Summer Strallen as glamour-puss Janet Van De Graaf, Bob Martin as Man in Chair, and of course the irrepressible Elaine Paige as the world’s wisest but most irresponsible drunken chaperone.
