East London fringe venue the Bridewell Theatre is staging a tribute to legendary Broadway composer Jerry Herman. Tune the Grand Up!: The Show Tunes of Jerry Herman runs 6 - 29 August 1998.

The new revue showcases the music and lyrics of Herman from record-breaking, Tony Award-winning musicals such as Hello, Dolly!, Mame and La Cage aux Folles to the lesser known scores of other musicals such as Mack & Mabel, Dear World and The Grand Tour.

The Bridewell is billing it as 'a grand tribute to Jerry Herman, an American treasure....His career reminds us of the Golden Age of Broadway when pure entertainment was reason enough.'

The American team bringing the revue to London is headed by Paul Gilger, who conceived the show. Bill Starr directs and choreographs. And Jerry Herman himself supervises the production.

Tune the Grand Up! plays Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7.30pm with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.
