Plays Cast: Terry in Globe Dream, Mamet’s Race, Tricycle Bracken
With music from Claire van Kampen and
designs by Jonathan Fensom, the production will “explore the intense
passions and antagonisms that lurk beneath the shimmering surface of
Shakespeare’s eternally popular comedy”.
Terry won an Olivier Award in 2011 for her portrayal of Sylvia in Tribes at the Royal Court, and is currently appearing in Before The Party at the Almeida. She has previously appeared at the Globe in Love’s Labours Lost (2009).
John Light’s recent theatre credits include Luise Miller (Donmar Warehouse), The Master Builder (Almeida) and True West (Sheffield Crucible).
Hermia will be played by Olivia Ross, who returns to the Globe having played Princess Katherine in Henry V last year, while Sarah MacRae also returns to the venue as Helena following her turn as Bianca in the 2012 production of The Taming of the Shrew.
Joshua Silver, who most recently appeared in Trelawny of the Wells at the Donmar Warehouse, plays Demetrius, and Luke Thompson, who will graduate from RADA this year, plays Lysander.
Clarke Peters and Jasper Britton will be joined by Charles Daish and Nina Toussaint-White in the UK premiere of David Mamet’s detective drama Race, which runs from 29 May to 29 June 2013 (previews from 23 May) at Hampstead Theatre.
Directed by Olivier Award-winner Terry Johnson, who helmed Old Money at the venue last season, according to press material the play is a “searing drama is a topical detective story about the perceptions and realities that colour our world – and the subtle shades between being a victim and being victimised.”
Full casting has been announced for the premiere of Alexi Kaye Campbell‘s new play Bracken Moor, which runs at the Tricycle from 14 June to 20 July 2013 (previews from 6 June).
Directed by Shared Experience’s Polly Teale, the play is billed as a “boldly theatrical and compelling tale of grief and denial set in 1930s Yorkshire”.
The cast is: Antony Byrne (John Bailey/Dr Gibbons), Daniel Flynn (Harold), Natalie Gavin (Aileen), Helen Schlesinger (Elizabeth), Simon Shepherd (Geoffrey), Joseph Timms (Terence) and Sarah Woodward (Vanessa).
