Daniel Boys moves in for Neighbours duet?

“Everybody needs good neighbours” … right? And Whatsonstage.com Award-winner Daniel Boys clearly has the boy-next-door charm that works Down Under. Congratulations to him for triumphing in the Anglo-Australian competition to sing the new theme tune for Neighbours Remixed. The former Any Dream Will Do reality finalist won the UK heats with 37% of the vote, but judges couldn’t decide between him and Australia winner Stephanie Angelini, and so for the first time ever the theme tune will be a duet.

Boys is best known for his success on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s talent contest Any Dream Will Do in 2007. He won the 2009 Whatsonstage.com Award for Best Takeover in a Role for his performance in Avenue Q. Other stage credits include Ordinary Days, Wolfboy, I Love You Because and Peter Pan. He’s currently on tour starring in High Society, which runs until 13 July.

The new theme song will be released later this month. In the UK, Neighbours is broadcast on Channel 5. The only question now is will Boys and Angelini “become good friends” as well as good neighbours?
