Burn the Floor posts early closing notices at Shaftesbury, 30 June

Dance show Burn the Floor, which is currently playing at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre, has posted early closing notices for Sunday 30 June.

The “hot-blooded” show, which features “jaw-dropping choreography” by Jason Gilkison and stars Strictly Come Dancing’s Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihanoff, returned to the West End last month (11 March 2013).

In a statement, the producers said: “We are delighted to have brought Burn The Floor to London and it has been wonderful to see audiences receive our fantastic company with such enthusiasm, and joy. Having constantly played around the world for the past fourteen years, we now look forward to many further successful touring productions”.
First conceived as a special performance at Elton John’s 50th birthday
celebration in 1997, two years later Burn the Floor made its world premiere
in the UK (in Bournemouth) and has since played in over 30 countries, including a run on Broadway.From NYC’s Harlem, where dances such as the Lindy, Foxtrot and
Charleston were born, to the Latin Quarter where the Cha-Cha, Rumba and
Salsa steamed up the stage, Burn the Floor
takes audiences on a journey through the passionate drama of dance. The
elegance of the Viennese Waltz, the exuberance of the Jive, the
intensity of the Paso Doble, as well as the Tango, Samba, Mambo,
Quickstep, and Swing.Tim Rice musical From Here to Eternity premieres at the Shaftesbury in October.
