London Wonderground festival unveils cabaret & circus programme

Full programme details have been announced for the first Priceless London Wonderground season at Southbank Centre.

The new festival will take place in a 1920s “Spiegeltent” next to the now familiar upturned Udderbelly purple cow tent.

Billed as “a playground for the people, bringing a taste of 20th century
Coney Island to 21st century London” the festival will feature a mix of cabaret, circus, sideshow and music acts.

The headline act is Cantina , a “glamorous, wicked and sultry” cocktail of acrobatics, vaudeville, circus, magic and music from Australia which includes performers from La Clique.

Cabaret acts appearing over the course of the festival include Meow Meow (seen in the West End musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), The Tiger Lillies, Bourgeois & Maurice, Camille O’Sullivan and Fascinating Aida.

Sword-swallowing Guinness World Record holder the Space Cowboy will host
The Royal Family of Strange People, an evening of “extraordinary stunts, strange behaviour and acts that push the very boundaries of what the human body is able to do”
