Arthur & Co. serve up more laughs at One Man, Two Guvnors Q&A

Last night (11 April 2012) 150 theatregoers took to the Theatre Royal Haymarket to see Richard Bean‘s Whatsonstage.com Award winning show One Man, Two Guvnors. With its recent transfer and new cast, we couldn’t resist an Outing to see how the critically acclaimed play was enjoying its new surroundings.

Francis Henshall becomes minder to the notorious London gangster Roscoe Crabbe. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead twin brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers – but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors apart. How hard could it be?!

The evening was chock full of laughs, and once the curtain fell we were joined by Owain Arthur, Jodie Prenger, Gemma Whelan, Daniel Ings, Ben Mansfield and Martin Barras for even more entertainment for what was a very funny and insightful Q&A.

Owain Arthur explained how he was discovered for the stage whilst working at a hot dog stand, Gemma Whelan told us how she slipped on spilt soup and had to backwards roll off the stage and Martin Barras admitted that falling down the stairs is quite addictive…

As always, please feel free to email your comments and thoughts about the play, as well as any of your favourite insights from last night to feedback@whatsonstage.com. We would love to hear from you and look forward to seeing you soon.
