Denzel Washington Erects Fences in London???

The current Broadway revival of August Wilson’s 1983 play Fences, part of the late dramatist’s epic ten-play cycle about the black experience in 20th-century America, may be London-bound – though, according to today’s Daily Mail that will be dependent on its leading man and main draw, Hollywood actor Denzel Washington, being able to make time in his schedule after the production finishes its limited season at New York’s Cort Theatre this July. In the piece, set in Pittsburgh in 1957, Washington plays Troy Maxson, a Negro baseball league former star who is now a garbageman and consumed by bitterness touches. Viola Davis co-stars as his wife. Kenny Leon directs.
