Theatre Royal Bath's revival of the Alan Bennett Cold War comedy Single Spies is manoeuvring for a West End transfer. The double bill - comprising An Englishman Abroad and A Question of Attribution and starring Robert Powell and Liza Goddard - completes a three-month UK tour this month and is expected to reopen in the West End sometime this summer. An Englishman Abroad was first seen as a short television play, which Bennett adapted for the stage and paired with A Question of Attribution for a 1988 premiere at the National Theatre. The new production is directed by David Grindley.
